Keep an Up-to-date Faith Journal
Journaling helps connect the dots. It provides a private process for shifting through random thoughts and events of the day while reflecting on past experiences and dreaming of future plans. A faith Journal helps us see the path, the story of God in us. Hint: Some use notebooks, some Personal Planners, but a growing number of believers are Blogging their faith journal online.

Submit 5 Personal Faith Story reports
There is power in the believer's on-going testimony. Chapters continue to be written. Taking the time to write down our personal "God sightings" is an invaluable part of the journey to faith coaching. Hint: Most believers see their faith story like a roller coaster ride, filled with ups and downs. Sometimes God shows up when you're at the top and sometimes when you're at the bottom. You have a story either way.

Read and highlight the following Bible portions
- Gospel of John
- 2 Corinthians
- James
- 1 John
Hint: Use The Message or the New Living Translation, or something similar to help bring out the context of these passages. Highlight the verses that expand your understanding of Jesus' mission.
Read the following books and discuss your "take-a-ways" with Ron:
- The pursuit of God by A. W. Tozer
- The Shack by William Young
- Same kind of different as me by Hall and Moore
- Buck Naked Faith by Eric Sandras
- What's so amazing about grace? by Philip Yancey
- The Answer to How is Yes by Peter Bock
- Jesus in the Margins by Rick McKinnley
- The River Within by Jeff Imbach
Hint: Good books open our minds and touch our hearts. They challenge us to hear beyond the words. Each of the above books blessed Ron with faith-energizing take-a-ways. Read them and find your own.

Second Touch Assignment:
Jesus asked the man if he could see and he said he could but the people looked like trees. Then Jesus touched him the second time and the man said, "Now I see everything clearly." Now he could see people--the person behind the trees. Hint: One sure way to get out of the spiritual wilderness is to begin an all out search for Second Touch sights in others. A few real life stories of these holy fingerprints are shared in our FaithFeatures. Listen to these stories and contact LB Lyon to share your sightings.

Initiate a scheduled Prayer Group in your home
Gathering with fellow believers for conversations with God and each other is a essential part of faith coaching. Hint: Use Ron's Faith Notes as a conversation starter for your prayer group sessions. Make it an open sharing time. You are not there to make speeches in front of God, or hand in your wish list; you are there to have holy conversations.

Commit to becoming a generous giver at church, in your community, and to the Faith Coaching Network
Faith filled people are outrageously generous. Faith coaches are continually learning how to unwrap the gift of giving. Hint: Make this a priority, a resolution. Determine t<br>o become generous with our money, your gifts, your time, and your service. Work on it each week.
Practice bring out the best in people...being an agent for Jesus
The Apostle Paul states clearly that genuine faith sees Jesus in people. In fact, it is the test question
(2 Corinthians 13:5). Hint: Write this on the top of your "bucket list. Put in a good word for God by believing in people before they believe in themselves.

Navigating in the darkness
Faith Coaches run into roadblocks and frustrations, too. But, trusting God's presence when he is silent, excites courage and resiliency. His strength is found in our weaknesses. Hint: When a crisis time knocks you to the ground, call or contact Ron. This partnership will help you find a path through the valley.

Attend Faith Briefing events
During the year the Faith Coaching Network hosts local and online Faith Briefings. These events provide insight and inspiration for emerging faith coaches. Hint: Each Faith Briefing is a perfect opportunity to invite a friend to join the team. Even the online events are open to fresh eyes and ears. |
